After that, journey to Chitwan National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you’ll spend two days exploring its lush forests and wetlands, spotting birds such as the Giant Hornbill, Bengal Florican, and numerous migratory species.

Following that, make your way to Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve, a sanctuary for waterbirds and one of Asia’s top birdwatching spots. Over the next two days, you’ll encounter rare species like the Black Ibis, Swamp Francolin, and the elusive Bengal Bustard. Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu – Hotel Transfer:

Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. You’ll be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, relax and receive a short briefing on your upcoming birdwatching adventure across Nepal’s diverse habitats and conservation areas. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Sightseeing Tour around Kathmandu:

Begin your morning with a visit to bird-friendly heritage sites like Swayambhunath and the Garden of Dreams. These sites offer glimpses of urban birds like barbets, mynas, and bulbuls. Afternoon visit to Taudaha Lake, home to migratory waterfowl and resident birds. Return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 03: Visit to Phulchoki Hill Station:

Head to Phulchoki Hill, Kathmandu Valley’s premier birding destination. This subtropical forest hosts over 270 bird species, including the Cutia, Satyr Tragopan, and various warblers. Enjoy a full day of guided birdwatching. Return to Kathmandu in the evening. Overnight at your hotel.

Day 04: Travel to Chitwan National Park:

Drive or fly to Chitwan National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. After hotel check-in, explore the nearby riverbanks and forests for sightings of kingfishers, jungle fowl, and hornbills. Evening briefing on park wildlife and bird species. Overnight stay near the park.

Day 05: Explore Chitwan National Park:

Enjoy a full day of birdwatching with a naturalist guide. Canoe rides and nature walks allow sightings of over 500 bird species including the Bengal Florican, Greater Racquet-tailed Drongo, and Pallas’s Fish Eagle. Visit the birdwatching tower for better views. Return to lodge by sunset.

Day 06: Travel to Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve:

Drive or fly to Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve in eastern Nepal, one of the best birding sites in South Asia. Upon arrival, check into your eco-lodge. Take a short evening birding walk near the Koshi River to spot water birds and waders. Overnight at lodge.

Day 07: Explore Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve:

Start early with birdwatching along wetlands and grasslands. Spot rare species like the Swamp Francolin, Black-necked Stork, and various raptors. Enjoy boat rides for water bird sightings. The region hosts over 500 species of birds, especially during the migratory season. Return to lodge for dinner.

Day 08: Explore Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve:

Continue exploring Koshi Tappu with expert guides. Visit the barrage area and surrounding marshlands for kingfishers, ibises, terns, and egrets. Learn about conservation efforts and local habitats. Capture photographs or keep field notes. Relax in the evening with a nature talk. Overnight at the reserve.

Day 09: Travel Back to Kathmandu:

After a morning birdwatching session and breakfast, return to Kathmandu by flight or scenic drive. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and spend the evening at leisure. Option to shop for bird books, crafts, or visit bird-themed cafes. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Day 10: Departure from Nepal:

Depending on your flight schedule, you may enjoy a final birdwatching walk near your hotel or visit a garden park. Transfer to the airport for your onward journey, carrying unforgettable birding experiences and memories from Nepal’s forests, wetlands, and hills.
